How To Repair A Broken Radiator Nipple

1. Hi the bleed nipple sheared off on a double radiator - see motion picture.
   I'grand really annoyed I didn't spray some wd-40 in there to encounter if it would gratis information technology up. Hindsight eh!

   I wondered if it is possible to repair it. Peradventure try to advisedly drill out the broken nipple with a small drill bit. Is this possible? Are new drain nipples available ?

   Could I somehow tap a new valve?

13. Its easy enough to get a drill which is known as the tapping drill size for the relevant thread size which I think is 1/eight" BSP.

    When y'all have drilled it out the you employ a plug tap to retap information technology.

    Simply the tapping simply goes in a short distance to a reduced size "cone" confronting which the original screw creates a valve.

    If y'all were clever you could recreate this only if not its easy to create a plug bolt with a PTFE tape seal on the threads.

16. Personally I'd probably get a new radiator, the fact that'due south rusted so solid suggests the inside is probably in a similar condition

    If you want to try getting it out, drill a pilot pigsty then endeavour a spiral extractor on it?

17. 5.5mm drill dead centre or new rad.
    Dremil wont work will slot rad before you slot nipple.

18. Drill hole on acme, air out, screw in, not hard, but get help if your unsure, Picket everything they practise, as they hate that,
