The venerable Total War series of scheme games, which turns 21 this year, has oversubscribed over 36 trillion copies, Creative Assembly announced. Total State of war: Three Kingdoms accounts for a good portion of that—a smash hit in China, Three Kingdoms became the fastest-selling game in the series when it moved a million copies in a individual week. The Warhammer games have been monumental as well, with preorders for Warhammer 3 superior the Steam charts. Creative Assembly says 1.5 million masses play Total War every calendar month.

The developer now has 800 permanent staff and has opened a third gear studio in West Sussex, which it says makes Creative Assembly "the largest UK games developer". Studio director Gareth Edmondson said, "This is an incredibly electrifying time for Yeasty Assemblage with the highly-hoped-for Unconditional State of war: Warhammer III on the horizon and our modern sci-fi-shooter Informatics in growing."

That sci-fi crap-shooter is the game mentioned when director Neil Blomkamp visited the studio apartment, which we still don't make out much about. According to a web log Wiley Post on CA's internet site, "This ambitious multiplayer title is a fresh take connected the FPS genre that testament allow players to embrace a diverseness of creative playstyles."

We don't know when to expect that one, but Total War: Warhammer 3 is due call at late 2021.
